Atos continued its merger and acquisition path in 2021. The French ICT giant originally acquired Cloudreach, a British cloud services company with more than 600 employees.
The acquisition of Cloudreach builds on strong synergies with Atos’ existing expertise in the cloud – particularly in Europe – said Adrian Gregory, Atos’ current co-CEO (as of January 2022, Rodolphe Belmer will formally take over as CEO).
Cloudreach was founded in 2009 and is dedicated to supporting organizations through cloud application development and cloud migration services. The company is a Premium Consulting Partner for Amazon Web Services, a Provider of Microsoft Azure Expert Managed Services, a Google Cloud Premier Partner, as well as a Google Cloud Security Partner.
The company’s 600 employees (turnover: about 100 million euros) collectively hold about 1,000 degrees in Amazon, Microsoft and Google Tech.
As part of the deal with Atos, cloud professionals in the UK, US, Canada, Netherlands, Germany, France, Switzerland and India will join the ICT service provider. Gregory: “With this acquisition, we are deepening our cloud-based capabilities to advise, transform and build digital solutions for our clients.”
According to Gregory, the deal is also good news for Cloudreach, as joining Atos will allow the team to expand its service offerings and expertise to North America and other regions where Atos is present. Globally, Atos has approximately 107,000 professionals working in more than 70 countries. The ICT giant is valued at 11 billion euros.
Brooks Bocherding, CEO of Cloudreach commented, “We are excited to take Cloudreach to the next level. Atos has an impressive global technology solutions platform and deep experience, offering our employees exciting new challenges and career growth.”
With the acquisition of Cloudreach, the number of Atos acquisitions this year has risen to ten. Earlier this week, the publicly traded company confirmed that it had acquired Canadian company AppCentrica. And in our country, Salesforce Partner Profit4SF was acquired by Atos at the beginning of February.
