The Brexit Adjustment Reserve System (BAR) caters to businesses affected by Brexit. It is possible to apply from 1 November.
The assistance scheme consists of two parts: a scheme for costs incurred and one for costs not yet incurred. This is not about loss of turnover, but costs such as:
- education.
- information campaigns;
- ICT adaptations;
- External advice
- Temporary rental of additional transport equipment.
Entrepreneurs must demonstrate that they were already dealing with the UK prior to January 31, 2020 and that the costs were necessary as a result of Brexit. The Online Regulation Instructions Gives an indication of whether people are eligible for the system and which units.
A total of €218 million is available to planners: €185 million for BAR reimbursement for costs incurred and €33 million for BAR reimbursement for costs not yet incurred. RVO evaluates applications in order of receipt, as long as budget is available.
EU Trade Program
In addition to the two support schemes, there is also an EU trade program to make business less dependent on the UK. For more information, go to EU Trade Program.
