The Uitsmijters Women have added another player to the selection via a quick transfer. Poland’s Olewwa Lipkowska trained for the first time on Tuesday and received the papers ahead of the first match in the competition. With Lepkowska, the Uitsmijters won their opening match in the promotion division against Landslake Lions 2 on Sunday by a score of 81-60.
The 19-year-old Polish woman attended junior college in the United States in recent years, moved to the Netherlands this summer and has just started studying human resources at Saxion University of Applied Sciences. Lepkowska made a somewhat awkward impression against Landsmeer. “It’s not surprising, because she’s only trained twice and doesn’t know our systems yet,” coach Leroy Williams said. However, the Polish woman showed some hints of her qualities. They are incredibly fast, agile and aggressive.
In addition, three other players made their debut for Almelo. American Lakota Petty got off to a great start with his first six points of the game (two three-pointers) and totaled 14 points. Emma Ode-Frellink, who comes from Jolly Jumpers 2 with Teddy Koopman, also impressed in her first match. Until I went out in the third quarter with a serious back injury. Koopman started a bit awkwardly, but he grew into the game and can finally look back on a creditable debut.
