The doubles match was the deciding factor and both countries had to go to extremes. After the tiebreak, Sanders and Samantha Stosur beat Alicia Barnett and Olivia Nichols 6 (1) -7, 7-6 (5) and 6-10. Australia was the first finalist.
Then Switzerland and the Czech Republic played against each other. Viktorija Golubic beat Karolina Muchova 2 times 6-4 and gave Switzerland a 1-0 lead. Then Belinda Bencic and Karolina Pliskova played against each other. Bencic brought Switzerland 6-2 7-6 (6) to the final. The doubles match is no longer played.
