Commercial Chinese blueberry cultivation began in 2000 and has been in development for more than 20 years, but the development speed is very fast. It has now overtaken the United States to become the largest grower of blueberries in the world; In 2020, China’s production of blueberries reached 285 thousand tons, of which 154 thousand tons were used in processing; The production of blueberries in the United States amounted to 283 thousand tons, of which 130 thousand tons were used for processing. At the moment, only China and the United States supply more than 200,000 tons of blueberries.

China’s blueberry territory is mainly concentrated in Guizhou, Liaoning, Shandong and other regions. The top five blueberry producing regions in China in 2020 are Guizhou, Sichuan, Anhui, Liaoning and Shandong, accounting for 24.5%, 14.4%, 11.5%, 10.1% and 9.5% respectively to be taken into account and these five places together are 70% .
