Saturday 6 April is a day for the history books of CKV Nieuwerkerk! Five years later, the club did it again: Dutch champions! After losing three finals (B1 in 2022 and twice D1 in 2023), Nieuwerkerk D1 is now on the right side of the score! The exciting final in Den Bosch was won 11-10 over Dalto D1 from Driebergen. Great result from the sons of coaches Robin Auwerkerk, Martin Bosma and Bas van Schaik! A day you will never forget for this golden generation of CKV Nieuwerkerk that succeeds the previous golden generation from 2019.
We invite all participants to write a report about your experience on this beautiful day: [email protected]. Beautiful pictures are welcome too!
Population migration
Neuerkerk with the youth team in the Dutch Championship final! You will never get used to it and it should never be considered normal. After losing in the finals at Wageningen, Ridderkerke and Dreibergen over the past two years, there was once again a huge buzz within the club. Supporters signed up en masse for the buses, and in the background volunteers worked hard to make it all possible.
Neuerkerk traveled with no less than three supporter buses (200 people) in the morning to the Masport Sports Hall in Den Bosch. Along with the large drive-in crowd, there were over 350 Blue/Black supporters in the beautiful large hall. The CKV section was beautifully decorated and the fans definitely gave it their all! Beautiful!
Exit the game
Of course, D1 had already left for Den Bosch after having a nice breakfast in the canteen. But not before Chairman Arjan Dikshorn delivered his first final speech in which he wished the team good luck. D1 was also presented with the traditional final banner, which will have a good place in the sports hall next week among all the other successful installments of CKV Nieuwerkerk. To Den Bosch! Once they arrived, they of course had to first get used to the large gym hall. Sort of a little game of Ahoy with high stands around the entire field. great! Fans flocked in cars and the box became fuller and bluer. When all the supporters entered the bus just before the players were introduced, it was natural that there would be a huge party. The final match started nervously. Dalto D1 and Nieuwerkerk D1 know each other from regular competition. In that competition, Nieuwerkerk D1 won the first leg with a score of 6-14. However, Dalto won three weeks ago in Klein Fink with a score of 9-13. Neuerkerk then defeated HKC and Albatros in the quarter and semi-finals. Dalto defeated the North Group team very convincingly in the quarter-finals and were too strong for SKF D1 in the semi-finals last week.
Nieuwerkerk quickly took the lead thanks to Jasmijn's goal. After that Dalto was the best. Driebergen's team was dangerous for the runner and managed to score four times in a row: 1-4. That was just a touch for Nieuwerkerk D1. In the 13th minute, Yasmine scored her second goal to make the score 2-4 for Newerkerk. Then 2-5 to Dalto and no goals for nearly ten minutes. Two very important goals before the end of the first half. First 3-5 to Sarr with a through ball, then a long shot to Sim: 4-5. This also became the first half score.
Right after the break, Sim scored again! 5-5! Neuerkirk returned to the game after falling behind twice by three points. The team also began to change. Fortunately, all players were able to get their minutes. And everyone was important in their own way! For example, it was substitutes Sofia and Kaas who scored impressive goals with scores of 6-6 and 7-7. D'Alto had taken the lead twice before. It was a thrilling finish, that much was clear. The teams were well matched.
Dalto made it 7-8, but it was Sofia who scored again. This time with a very nice follow-up: 8-8! But for the umpteenth time after the break, Dalto responded with a quick 8-9 goal. Then Yasmine deserved a penalty kick. I registered but the timeout has already been requested. Jasmine remained calm, as she also scored the penalty kick after the time-out: 9-9. Her third goal! After that goal, Neuerkirk kept it within striking distance. This way the team can look for its first lead after 1-0. This lead came! With her third goal, Sofia Neuerkerk made it 10-9! Another nice runner. Big party in the stands! With about two minutes to go, the Neuerkirk section exploded as Jonah made it 11-9! Was this the decision?!
It remained interesting because Dalto was immediately awarded a penalty: 11-10. On the other hand, Neuerkirk did not get a penalty and Dalto had the chance to make it 11-11. Didn't fall. Possession of the ball for Nieuwerkerk in attack and then the referee's whistle blows! Newerkerk D1 Dutch Champion!!
amazing! What a party! Last year they lost two finals to the powerful KZ D1. But three times is the law! The history of the club was written by Sofia Perek, Saar Bosma, Jasmine Ekman, Demi van Nierop, Anouk Auerkerk, Sim VD Heuvel, Sim Hoogendoorn, Sven Block, Tom Rijm, Cas Brinkmann, coaches Robin Auerkerk, Martin Bosma and Bas van Schaik and reserves Jonah VD. Burgett and Ross Verbeek! All local talent, as beautifully depicted on our new fan banner! The club is very proud of this great achievement. After the awards ceremony, during which no fans were allowed to sit on the floor, Coach Auerkerk took his students upstairs! There in the stands, the champions were welcomed by their supporters and happy and proud parents, grandparents and great-grandparents could hug and congratulate their children (grandchildren). Beautiful blue/black tears of joy in the stands in Den Bosch!
Party afterward
All cars and buses return to Nieuwerkerk in high spirits. The sun was shining beautifully and there was a big party on all the buses! On Klein Fink, most fans continued to wait for the D1 champions. The children thus received a wonderful welcome upon their arrival at Klein Fink. The honor guard is complete with blue and black torches. Great for kids to try! What followed was a typical CKV afternoon. Children enjoy playing on the field, proud champions wear their medals, and older fans chat and reminisce. D1's parents provided a barbecue for approximately 200 people. summit! And now finally another gold edge! Congratulations D1!
