Amazon is partnering with GOG and game developers to offer a selection of GOG games on its Amazon Luna cloud gaming service. Amazon Prime members and Luna+ subscribers will soon have the opportunity to play select GOG games they already own and purchase additional games.
Available games will include PC classics like Stardew Valley, but AAA games like The Witcher series and Cyberpunk 2077 will also be playable on Amazon Luna via GOG. Games can be streamed from the cloud to any Luna-compatible device, including Amazon Fire TVs, Fire tablets, select Samsung and LG TVs, Android and iOS smartphones, and desktops like PCs, Macs, or Chromebooks that won't Its computing power is sufficient enough to play games.
The game license can be used anywhere
Anyone who purchases a GOG game digitally from Amazon Luna in the cloud can not only play the game via the cloud streaming service, but can also download it to their PC using the GOG player and play it offline. As of the announcement, the two companies haven't provided any additional details about how many of the 9,000-plus DRM-free GOG games will find their way to Luna.
