Coach Jürgen Klinsmann sees a job as coach of Tottenham Hotspur. “Of course I would think about it. If the Tottenham report takes it seriously,” the former German international said on Britain’s Sky channel. Klinsmann knew President Daniel Levy had his phone number. “He can always call.”
After Jose Mourinho resigned last month, Tottenham Hotspur is looking for a successor. Klinsmann played for the London club in the 1994/95 season and was named England’s Footballer of the Year that season. “I spent the best time of my life there,” said the 56-year-old former German coach. “This club means a lot to me.”
Klinsmann was still the national coach of the United States from 2011 to 2016 and had worked two months as head coach for Hertha BSC eighteen months earlier, swapping a role as manager for a place on the bench. It was not a success. “In football things can go so fast,” Klinsmann said, who said he never thought he would become the national coach of Germany and the United States. “But you have to be open, and always think about new challenges. Why not do that with Tottenham?”
