One store in Vancouver now has three newly confirmed COVID-19 cases for employees.
Workers at major grocery chains operating in Metro Vancouver have tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
New confirmed cases of the virus have been announced to people working in stores in Vancouver, Cochetlam and Surrey.
Loblaw Companies Ltd, parent company of Real Canadian Superstore, submitted an update to their COVID-19 employee case lists on December 2.
Affected stores are as follows:
- Real Canadian Superstore, 3185 Grandview Highway, Vancouver: The last day the three team members worked was on November 19, November 20 and November 23 respectively.
- Real Canadian Superstore, 1301 Lougheed Highway, Coquitlam: The team member’s last working day was November 24th.
- Real Canadian Superstore, 7550 King George Blvd. Surrey: The team member’s last working day was November 28th.
Additionally, T&T Supermarket, also owned by Loblaw, has updated its lists of COVID-19 cases to include a new positive instance of in-store testing. The affected store is as follows:
- Coquitlam Store – # 2740-2929 Barnet Hwy: Colleague test result is positive; The last business day was November 21 and he has been in quarantine for 10 days.
As a result of a series of positive cases of testing among Coquitlam store employees, T&T closed the site on Barnet Hwy from December 2-4.

“It is time for the Coquitlam store employees to take a break, and for the company to take stronger action,” Lee said.
T&T will do a deep cleaning and sterilization before reopening on Saturday. 5. The closure would allow personnel to test, if needed, and clean up the store.
None of the stores listed above are considered sites of public exposure to coronavirus by Vancouver Coastal Health or Fraser Health.
