One app that can connect to almost any TV is the Amazon Fire TV app, available for Android and iOS. According to the information received from this free application allows chip.dein conjunction with the “Amazon Fire TV” product, to control all TV devices within the Amazon world.

However, the big drawback is that it can only be used while streaming via “Amazon Fire TV Stick/Cube”. An exception to this is controlling the “normal” TV program or turning the device on and off as a user option.
Alternative to Amazon: smartphone as a remote control
Amazon is not the only provider in this space. TV manufacturers Samsung (“Samsung Smart Things”), LG (“LG-TV Plus”) and Philips (“Philips TV Remote”) each also offer their own app for the TV in question. All these apps can be installed and used on both Android and iOS.
The apps differ only slightly in terms of functionality. Since, unlike the Amazon Fire TV app, they are responsible for operating the entire TV, they have the same capabilities as a traditional remote control. This means that the app can be used as a complete replacement for the classic remote control, eliminating the need for a physical remote control.
