- Provided you flip a switch in the settings before receiving.
Someone sent you a message on WhatsApp and then deleted it. Now are you curious what was inside? There is a trick you can use to view deleted WhatsApp messages on Samsung mobile phones. To do this, you have to make a change in the settings before you receive the message, as Reddit user Tiem_zelf explains.
Open Settings on your Galaxy phone, then select Notifications and then Advanced settings. Then tap Notification history and turn it on. In the future, you’ll once again be able to view all the notifications from your apps that you’ve received in the past 24 hours. The list also includes WhatsApp messages that were later deleted.
Notification log must be enabled.
However, there are limitations. For example, you cannot view very long messages in full and deleted photos and videos cannot be viewed later using the trick.
If you don’t have a Samsung mobile phone, you can also update the feature on mobile phones from other manufacturers. You can find the corresponding apps on Google Play – like Notification History Recorder or MIUI – HyperOS Hidden Settings to make deleted WhatsApp messages visible on Xiaomi phones. However, keep in mind that they can read your notifications and your data may end up in the wrong hands. So, only download relevant apps from trustworthy sources and check other users’ reviews beforehand.
There are other ways to recover deleted WhatsApp messages on Android phones. We've collected them for you in the linked article, but they don't work on all devices and aren't always reliable.
You should change these other settings on your Samsung mobile phone. This will improve the performance of your device, receive fewer annoying notifications, and protect your privacy.
notice: Although this trick is tempting, you should always keep in mind that there will be reasons why the other person deletes the message and does not want you to read it. We advise you, especially if you are a close friend, to accept your contact’s decision to delete the message and not read it anymore.
