Belgian broadcaster VRT reported that dozens of houses collapsed on the river Visde in the village of Bippenster near Liege as a result of the floods. A boy in Yubin drowns
To date, it is known that six people were killed. One of them, a 22-year-old boy, died after jumping into fast-flowing water with a swimming pool, according to Het Laatste Nieuws. His lifeless body was later found in a stream. In Aywaille, a 50-year-old man died in a flooded cellar.
Four bodies were later found on Thursday afternoon in Verviers, in Liege province. No further details about these victims have been disclosed at the moment.

Floods are also significant elsewhere in the country. “The situation is catastrophic,” Joe Rogen, mayor of the village of Gitbits in Flemish Brabant, told VRT. “We’ve been in the water for several hours and it doesn’t seem to get better right away.”
