Dragon Age fans were understandably a little nervous after news that two of Bioware’s notable cast members were leaving the studio, one of those names being Mark Darrah, who was the executive producer of the upcoming show. Dragon Age 4. He leaves Dara with Bioware GM Casey Hudson, and after the news, Bioware has announced who will take on the roles. The positions will fall to Samantha Ryan, who will oversee the studio as a whole, and Christian Dailey, who takes over Dara as executive producer on Dragon Age 4. After the news gets out, Dailey released a note to fans of the franchise, addressing the new role, which will come from Dara, and what they hope for Achieve it with the next sequel in the franchise, and you can read it in full below.
“friends,
Happy Dragon Day!
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Laura, Casey and Mark for their kind words yesterday, and trust me during this transition. Both Casey and Mark, who I’ve worked with for the past three years, have had a positive influence, and I’ve learned a lot from them. It is really bittersweet. I will miss working with them every day, but I know we will remain friends and I’m excited about them as they embark on their next adventures.
Getting into the role in Dragon Age after Mark is clearly a bit humble. Mark is someone I’m looking forward to and he’s a true BioWare legend. We all hope to make him proud because we’re looking to bring out the best Dragon Age story yet, otherwise we know we’ll hear about it ….
I really look forward to getting to know you all and sharing ideas for improvement as we move into the next year. If you already follow me on Twitter, you know I love to share details throughout the development process and I hope to do the same as we continue our work on Dragon Age.
In the meantime, check out the new Dragon Age website launched today that includes some great new stories and illustrations.
Looking forward to sharing more soon.
Enjoy the wonderful Dragon Day, a safe and relaxing holiday, all.
Christian”
Earlier in the day, we heard from Dara, who talked about leaving the studio, Christian’s intervention, and how confident he is in the team working on the game, and you can find an excerpt from that below.
Dara wrote, “Dragon Age will be in safe hands. Christian Dailey will move into the role of executive producer. Christian Dailey is a strong leader and will provide insight into the rest of the Dragon Age leaders who have remained.” “This is a team of people with decades of experience at BioWare. And I am confident that, together, this is the team that can make Dragon Age the best yet.
Matthew Goldman remains the Creative Director. He’s been in Dragon Age since the early days of Dragon Age: Origins. Like me, he has participated in the franchise because it has changed over the years. He has a deep understanding of what he was and what he could be. “
The game will have a presence at The Game Awards, and we can’t wait to see what the team has in store.
