The Dutch want to know all about cryptocurrency more than anyone else in the world. Research conducted by online trading platform Tastyworks shows that the Dutch are the most searched on Google for cryptocurrencies per capita. There are 105,298 searches per month per million inhabitants.
Switzerland and Turkey follow with 76,769 and 59,174 searches per million inhabitants, respectively, far behind in second and third place.
According to Tastyworks, our curiosity is due to the innovative mentality in the Netherlands. The trading platform points to the fact that the Netherlands is generally implementing new technologies at an early stage, and that the government sees opportunities for cryptocurrency. The fact that De Nederlandsche Bank has a system to regulate cryptocurrency companies is also seen as positive.
According to Tastyworks, the fact that cryptocurrency is also very popular in Switzerland is that the country has taken significant steps in recent years by adopting the ‘Blockchain Law’ to open up its financial markets to cryptocurrencies. In Turkey, people are looking for ways to protect their savings from the massive depreciation of the lira.
Tastyworks research also shows that fun dogecoin is the most popular cryptocurrency after bitcoin in many countries, including the Netherlands.
In 56 percent of the countries analyzed, the most searched currency after bitcoin was tech billionaire Elon Musk’s favorite currency. In addition to the Netherlands, it is also found in the United States, India, the United Kingdom, Canada, South Africa, and Turkey.
In France, Spain, Switzerland and some other countries, Shiba Inu is the second most popular cryptocurrency after Bitcoin in terms of the number of searches.
