Dutch production Kabam! van IJswater’s films have won International Emmy Awards, and are the best TV shows made outside the United States. The prestigious awards were presented for the 50th time on Monday evening (US time). This young children’s drama series is nominated in the Kids: Live-Action category.
Pediatric fear is central to the KRO-NCRV series. In ten short stories, each time a different student from Teacher Mo’s class (Idris Nabil) comes along with a fear of his own. The series wants to show that “everyone is afraid sometimes”, and that a solution can often be found. Kabam! Directed by Elisabeth Heismans. The series competed with productions from Singapore, Australia and Mexico for the ceremony. The ceremony was held at the Hilton Midtown Hotel in New York.
Holland has received a statuette several times in the past during the International Emmy Awards. Awards included Het Zakmes, actors Pierre Boukma and Martin Hagemans, actresses Bianca Kriegsmann and Maryam Hassouni, and the TV show De Grote Donorshow. Peter RD Vries was awarded the prize in 2008 for his reporting on the disappearance of Natalie Holloway.
