The company announced this in a press release on Thursday after the lockdown. OÖNachrichten newspaper reported this a year ago.
The project company is supposed to develop wind and photovoltaic energy parks in Slovenia with an output of more than 180 MW, including about 140 MW from wind.
Other shareholders of AAE Gamit are WIG Wietersdorfer Holding GmbH, Alpen-Adria Energie GmbH, GAMIT Trgovina and the Ökoenergie group from Wolkersdorf. The goal is to develop four wind sites and four solar sites in southern Slovenia. The Primorska region in particular is very suitable. If the eight projects are implemented, electricity production is expected to reach about 360 gigawatt hours per year, which corresponds to the annual electricity requirements of more than 100,000 households.
New strategic direction
The project is part of EAG's new strategic direction called “Loop”, which aims to achieve climate neutrality by 2035. It plans to expand renewable energy largely in Austria, but also in Germany, Italy and Slovenia. CEO Leonard Schetter emphasized that by participating in wind and photovoltaic development projects in Slovenia, we are sending a “clear signal towards sustainability.”
Upper Austria's environmental advisor Stefan Kinder (Green Party) responded with criticism of the VP/FP state alliance: “It is clear, of course, that Energie AG also invests abroad. They would like to do more of this here in Upper Austria as well. But there is not even Now there is room for those literal political winds of black and blue.” Minimal expansion of existing wind energy sites is not enough. “Four new sites are planned in Slovenia alone. The resistance in black and blue must finally end, the potential of wind energy must be used and support Energie AG's strategy,” said Kinder, who is calling for a “situation initiative”. For wind energy.
