It was reported that a truck carrying dozens of Palestinians, which was driving along the safe road from northern to southern Gaza, was hit by an Israeli missile. This is what Hamas claims and was reported by eyewitnesses to the French news agency.
Pictures of the truck that was struck are circulating on social media. Agence France-Presse was able to verify these photos and they appear to match the testimonies. But the news agency cannot confirm whether the damage was actually caused by an Israeli missile.
If so, the attack occurred at a time when Gazans needed the ability to travel safely from north to south. Israel itself created this safe corridor and called on Palestinians to leave northern Gaza.
According to Hamas, at least 2,215 casualties have occurred in Gaza since October 7, including 724 children. On the Israeli side, 1,300 people were killed in the same period, most of them during the Hamas attack on Israeli territory last weekend.
