The families of kidnapped and tortured Moroccans in Burma (Myanmar) rebel against the negative attitude of the Moroccan authorities. After months of silence from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy in Morocco, they are organizing protests and a press conference to reinforce their demands.
The families, gathered in a committee, express their anger and disappointment at the lack of concrete action since the first Moroccan survivor was freed on February 9, 2024 and the first complaint was filed on January 19, 2024. They denounce the “incomprehensible violations.” The ministry's silence” and “the negative reaction and unjustified indifference from the embassy in Thailand” despite repeated calls.

They also point the finger at China. “The gangs who are detaining our children and exploiting them in online scams are all Chinese nationals,” the families said. They demand urgent intervention from China to free the Moroccan hostages.
The committee strongly denies allegations by a member of parliament that the ministry and the embassy did in fact assist the families. Instead, they applaud human rights organizations' continued support and solidarity.
