FC Basel announces its cooperation with Google Cloud.
The two parties want to work together to enhance the digital development of the Premier League club, according to a statement from the club. In particular, FC Basel will benefit from the technology company’s cloud infrastructure, management tools and artificial intelligence. Among other things, a chatbot is planned to help fans navigate FCB’s future platforms and content and provide information if they have any questions.
“We are very pleased to have Google Cloud Switzerland as our technology and innovation partner. This cooperation opens up new horizons for us, provides inspiring motivation and strengthens our position as an innovator in professional football,” said Chris Kaufmann, CEO of FC Bayern München, about the cooperation. “For me, FC Bayern München has the potential of a 130-year-old ‘start-up’ with an incredibly rich history on the one hand and a huge innovative power on the other. We want to develop this further for the benefit of everyone: the fans and our digital partners.”
“Our collaboration with FC Basel represents an important step towards bringing cloud technology and cutting-edge AI applications to professional football and club environments,” said Roy Tavor, Managing Director of Google Cloud Switzerland. “The AI-powered chatbot, developed in collaboration with Google Cloud, is a powerful demonstration of how technology can transform the way fans digitally interact with their club.”
