Like the leaders of Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Wales, England and Denmark, Virgil van Dijk plans to wear the OneLove band to equalize at the World Cup. But FIFA is trying to put an end to that, you know Build. For example, captains may receive a yellow card if they wear that squad.
FIFA met up with the United Nations on Saturday with its counterpart from OneLove. They designed a captain’s armband that supports a different ‘social campaign’ each round.
No OneLove band?
According to the German outlet, players who wear the OneLove band receive a yellow card because they spread a political message. Van Dijk intended to wear the belt against Senegal, only if he gets the yellow he should think about it again.
“If so, we should discuss it with each other. It’s not good, because I don’t like playing with a card in my pocket,” Van Dijk admitted in a conversation with NOS. “But at the moment I haven’t heard anything about it.”
On Monday we will see the band Van Dijk has on his arm.
The German Football Association is concerned that Manuel Neuer could face the consequences of his decision to wear the One Love bracelet. Neuer could face not only a fine, but also a possible yellow card before the Japan match for violating FIFA’s equipment laws.
