Belgium will automatically be present in the final round of the Billie Jean King Cup. Belarus does not have to pass the preliminary round first. Due to the suspension of Belarus, the Belgian players can go directly to the final round.
The ITF has suspended Russia and Belarus in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The meeting between Belarus and Belgium, scheduled for mid-April, will be cancelled. Belgium goes straight to the final round.
The ITF announced in an official announcement which countries will replace Russia and Belarus in the country competitions. In the Billie Jean King Cup, Belgium automatically continues at the expense of Belarus and Australia replaces Russia. As a result, Slovakia, opponents of Australia in the preliminary round, can also go directly to the final round.
