The Ford Ranger Raptor – the hardest and best-selling pickup truck in Europe – is now also available in a new Special Edition. To ensure exclusivity, the new Ford Ranger Raptor Special Edition is being produced in limited numbers. The Special Edition enhances the majestic appearance of the pickup with additional stylistic touches, such as racing stripes and red details.
This special edition is one of the protagonists of The Good, the Bad and the Bad-RSE – a new action movie based on Ford’s Spaghetti Western. The movie showcases the new Special Edition Ranger Raptor and its high-speed off-road capabilities. Also in the movie are Ranger Wolftrak, Stormtrak, and rally-inspired MS-RT.
The Ranger Raptor was developed by Ford Performance to be the best Ford Ranger. Featuring an extremely robust body, suspension and tuned tires, and a high-performance EcoBlue diesel engine, this version is for true off-road enthusiasts looking for thrills.
The Ranger Raptor Special Edition can be seen at select Dutch Ford dealerships from Q1 2022.
In addition to a choice of body colors in blue, light gray and frozen white, the Ranger Raptor Special Edition also features matte black racing stripes with red contrast stripes on the hood, roof, sides, rear fenders and trunk lid. This further underlines the high-performance character of the pickup truck.
Complementing the racing lines, the front tow hooks come in red, while the wider wheel arches, front and rear bumpers, door handles and the signature Ford grille feature a matte black finish for a more premium look than the standard Ranger Raptor.
The crew cabin interior is even sportier on the Ranger Raptor Special Edition thanks to the special red stitching on the steering wheel, dashboard and door trims. Standard grain leather seats are designed to provide comfort and support on both rough terrain and highway. Moreover, the Raceway Gray dashboard, available only for the special edition, provides even more exclusivity.
Also as a special edition, the Ranger Raptor features the unique Ford Performance chassis. It’s optimized for high-speed off-road driving (where permitted) and offers a 150 mm wider track and an additional 51 mm ride height over the Ranger XLT.
The Raptor suspension has aluminum double wishbones at the front wheels, while the rear axle uses a multi-link suspension. FOX shock absorbers with position-sensitive damping are also standard and adjust damping according to different conditions. Grabber AT3 all-terrain tires provide maximum grip on unstable surfaces.
The Ranger Raptor Special Edition is powered by a 2.0-liter twin-turbo EcoBlue diesel engine with 157 kW (213 hp) with 500 Nm of torque. The responsive 10-speed automatic transmission also comes in the Ford Mustang and Ranger’s older brother, the iconic F-150. The unique Terrain Management System enables the management of many types of terrain and driving conditions. Baja Mode – named after the popular Baja 1000 Desert Rally – delivers perfect off-road performance.
In Ford’s new movie The Good, the Bad and the Bad-RSE, the Ranger Raptor special edition dodges enemy bandits in the Wild West town. Other Ranger models helped him in this. The movie contains several references to popular Western movies and was filmed in a true Spaghetti Western movie set in Spain. Of course, the jumps and drifts from the original Ranger Raptor intro video, which has been viewed more than five million times, appear in this movie as well.
