Former Feyenoord player Nick Marsman could be admired in Dutch action again in the coming months. The 33-year-old goalkeeper moved to ADO Den Haag on a free transfer and signed the Champions League's number three player on a six-month contract on Wednesday afternoon.
“Due to Vintjes' long-term injury and Nykema's participation in the African Cup, we wanted to strengthen our selection with an experienced goalkeeper to complete the goalkeeping squad once again. With Marsman we have found the required reinforcement,” says coach and former Feyenoord defender Joris Matthiessen on the club's website.
By attracting Marsmann, ADO Den Haag is sending a strong signal to the competition. The Hague club want promotion to the Eredivisie and are also hoping to add Jordi Buijs and Jens Toornstra to the selection. But it seems that the latter will be difficult. The former Feyenoord player and Utrecht FC midfielder has indicated that he wants to get his chance at Galgenwaard.
Marsman played thirty matches for Feyenoord. The goalkeeper left for US club Inter Miami on a free transfer in the summer of 2021. In total, he played 29 matches in MLS and seven in the USL Championship. In the Netherlands, he also played for FC Twente, Go Ahead Eagles and Utrecht.
