Oden / Schiphol – Since this week, around 7,500 Schiphol have been wearing new uniforms. Uden’s Wiltec has taken care of that. Almost all airport personnel – from security personnel to baggage handlers – are clearly visible and recognizable by travelers.
Wiltec, which employs around 400 people and was commissioned at the end of 2019, has taken care of the entire process as a chain manager to access new clothes for Schiphol employees. This relates to wear testing, personnel measurements, intelligent distribution, management and delivery. Last year, the Uden-based company delivered new clothes to 5,500 ambulance workers.
A sustainable airport
Schiphol wants to become the most sustainable airport in the world. This is why the company’s new clothing is designed and produced as sustainably as possible. Schiphol has developed its own clothing line for every function, in line with the desires of the wearer. Each position has different requirements. Despite the differences, the work clothes together make up a complete set as they are based on the characteristics of Schiphol (brand style).
The company’s new apparel was designed by designer Karen Slippers of Sint-Michielsgestel – a fashion and design teacher at Summa College in Eindhoven – who also designed the clothing line for AmbulanceZorg Nederland. “I am very proud of the group that you have managed to create for Schiphol employees. The most important thing is that you are able to do your job comfortably.”
