In recent times, the Gmail app will make a big change for iPhone and Android users. In fact, this change will enable Google Chat app integration into the Gmail app, with Mail, Meetings, and Rooms. This chat messaging app will be able to access Google Workspace. However, from now on, it can be used for personal accounts.
The Gmail app will now have four tabs on iPhone and Android. These are Gmail, Chat, Meet, and Rooms.
To enable this chat functionality in the Gmail app on iPhone or Android phone, you must first check to see if there is an updated version of the Gmail app. If not, then you need to download the updated version from Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
After downloading the updated version, you need to open the Gmail app and click on the sandwich menu at the top left of the screen. Now some options will come up. Scroll down to Settings. From here you need to select your personal Google account. Now you need to enable “Chat (Early Access)> toggle. The new version of the Gmail app will then have four tabs, along with a new chat box.
Gadget experts believe that chatting options and meeting workspace accounts will become competitors to video conferencing and instant messaging platforms such as Microsoft Team, Zoom, and Slacker. Personal Gmail accounts are also expected to compete with WhatsApp, Telegram, and Signal.
