Attention jazz fans, the concert series starts again on October 15 at the Fermerie in Deventer. The Farmhouse Jazz & Blues Band will be performing from 3:00pm to 5:00pm to make for a lovely afternoon.
The band plays mainly in the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Switzerland and Luxembourg. Now he visits Deventer to make jazz and R&B music, among other things. They will provide a lively and enthusiastic sound with elegant arrangements. “I’ve seen this amazing band before, and believe me, what this band does is truly fireworks!” said René van der Closter, founder of Good Time Jazz.
Powerful swing
The basic components include a strong swing with plenty of drive. This combination allowed the band to distinguish themselves from other bands in a short time. The Farmhouse show is a party for young and old, where no one can sit still and where guests are serenaded on the dance floor.
Band members
The front line in woodwind selection includes Michael Müller, Hans van Wermeskerken (band director), clarinetist/saxophonist/guitarist/vocalist Michel Bos and Wim Freiburg (clarinet, sax). The band is also completed by Cees Heegstra on drums, Carla Tavenier Cook on double bass and Gerard Tavenier on guitar and banjo.
New life
The band was founded in 1981 by former members of the famous Stable Roof Jazz Band. The band enjoyed great popularity at home and abroad. However, the band disbanded after a few years. However, it was revived in 2014, again by former members of the Stable Roof Jazz Band.
