President of the Palestinian Resistance Movement thanked Iran for providing military and financial support during the recent conflict with Israel in a televised address on Friday.
Hours after Israel and the Palestinian authorities agreed to the ceasefire, Ismail Haniyeh, a prominent Hamas leader, warned that it would continue to “defend” Jerusalem.
In a report published in the “Al-Quds” newspaper, he said, “Jerusalem remains the center of the conflict.” The Jerusalem Post newspaper said, referring to the continuing fighting in the area.
Biden believes that “my party still supports Israel.”
Haniyeh thanked “the Islamic Republic of Iran, which did not back down with money, weapons and technical support.”
“We will also use the help of other Arab countries,” he added.
Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo cited the comments on Friday as the reason the United States had not lifted Iranian sanctions when the Biden administration attempted another nuclear deal.

Haniyeh’s statements coincided with statements made by Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Friday, in which he called on Islamic countries to take up arms in support of the Palestinians.

The Iranian leader urged Muslims to demand their government to support the Palestinians and called on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to “be tried by international and independent courts.”
Khamenei’s comments came after reports of unrest in other Gulf states as violent exchanges between Israel and the Palestinian territories continued for 11 days.
