Formula 1 has struggled for years to gain a foothold in the United States. Now, however, the sport has succeeded in this task. The Miami Grand Prix will be held this weekend, followed by the US Grand Prix in Austin later this year. Next year, the Las Vegas Grand Prix will also be added to that list.
Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton is looking forward to racing in Miami. The British driver, Mercedes, loves this country and is looking forward to it. Speaking to Motorsport.com, the Mercedes driver said: “Growing up, I learned how amazing this sport is. But Formula 1 couldn’t find a place in the US. It’s really great to see that we share our passion for the US. The love for this sport is taking… on the increase.”
The race around Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens is one of the heart of the British. Hamilton can’t wait to get into his car: “Miami is going to be a real experience for all of us. And that goes for the people in motorsport, but also for the fans who watch the race and everyone who comes to the race. America really has us. So much to offer so it’s really something to look forward to.”
