Prince William, Kate’s husband, is incredibly close to Philip, calling his grandfather a “legend” for his work promoting the royal family. The bond was formed in the early part of William’s life when Philip helped guide the young prince in the wake of the death of his mother, Princess Diana. But surprisingly, there is another relationship between William’s wife, the Duchess of Cambridge, and the Duke of Edinburgh.
While suffering from gestational vomiting, a severe form of morning sickness, the Duchess was forced to spend about four days inside King Edward VII Hospital in London.
This was the same hospital that treated Prince Philip for an injury caused by a previous condition.
The fact that she was in the same hospital where Prince Philip was being treated very well would have comforted both of them.
In 2017, concerns arose when Philip was taken to hospital at the age of 97 – but his son Prince Charles later confirmed his father was “getting better”.
BBC Royal correspondent Peter Hunt added: ‘Given that he is being treated for a pre-existing condition, it is safe to assume that he has had a recurring bladder infection that led to his depression twice in 2012.
“He is not bedridden, but he is in the private hospital,” the officials said.
“ Philip’s current good mood can be tested if, as he was five years ago, he remains an inpatient for several days. ”
Kate was hospitalized while pregnant with Prince George in 2012, and William is said to have driven 50 miles to receive treatment for the Duchess.

“The RAF is happy with this news and wishes the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge all the best for the future,” added a RAF spokesperson, who served as a search and rescue pilot at the time.
Insider panic swept through Buckingham Palace at the time of her illness, as many feared that her appearance in hospital could lead to speculation about whether she was pregnant.
So, even though she was only pregnant in the twelfth week of pregnancy, St James’s Palace made an announcement to the public confirming her pregnancy, and it wasn’t until hours earlier that other members of the royal family found out about it.
A week before Kate’s pregnancy was confirmed, William sparked reports she was expecting after he accepted a baby romper suit from a member of the public in Cambridge.
The uniform had the words “My father’s little co-pilot” written on it, as well as a picture of a helicopter.
At the time, William was a RAF search and rescue pilot and, according to the Daily Mail, “smiled as he collected the item,” before the Duke of Cambridge added, “I’ll keep that.”
