Lando Norris signed a multi-year agreement with McLaren. The 21-year-old Briton will anyway be a part of McLaren next year with teammate Daniel Ricciardo.
Norris joined the team as a test driver in 2017, after which he was appointed as a test and reserve driver until 2018. He made his debut as a Formula 1 driver in the Australian Grand Prix. During the Grand Prix of Austria in 2020, the Briton took his first ever podium after a penalty for Lewis Hamilton. Also this season, Norris performs and again takes third place in the Grand Prix of Emilia-Romagna.

The future is at McLaren
With Norris’ contract extended, the McLaren squad for next season is clear. Ricardo actually signed a multi-year agreement when he switched from Renault to McLaren. Team McLaren announced that it is committed to the team’s future stability with this pair. “It represents another step in the team’s long-term plan to compete at the front of the field.”
Both CEO Zach Brown and Team Director Andreas Seidel are pleased to respond to Norris’ renewal in the announcement. “Lando has impressed us ever since Not seasoned– The year that has seen his achievements and development as a driver since then is clearly visible, “says Seidel.
Norris himself says he has made tremendous progress with the team over the years. His goals for the future with McLaren are clear: to grab more podiums and hopefully win a world title. “We’ve already had some great moments I’ll never forget – the podium and lockout of P3 in the tournament.”
