Stupid Duo Pizza
Leipzig – The pizza oven was still cold when they walked into the store. However, they did not intend to eat anything either…
Two thieves broke into Freddy Fresh’s delivery service on Somerfelder Street on Sunday morning, just before 9 a.m. Someone tore a secure tablet off the wall. They also took 75 euros in cash and took the key to the delivery car with them.
It is a pity that they were hit directly under a surveillance camera.
“The police said there was a good chance that the thieves would be caught,” says 38-year-old managing director Benjamin Amendi. As evidenced by the footage, the men were not wearing gloves. “This made it easier to secure the DNA,” Amende reports.
It was already light when the burglary happened. “In order not to be seen, the two crawled under the shop window, but we have cameras there as well.”
One of the robbers was detected, while the other pulled the hood of his jacket over his head so that parts of his face could also be seen, making it easier for investigators.
Shortly thereafter, the police were already at work. Even before the transformation began, the forensics were over. “Our staff simply stayed away from the areas where the thieves were staying and also wore gloves in case the police had to turn back.”
The pizza boss estimates the total damage at 3,800 euros. “The most expensive thing was to fix the front doors. Fortunately, the delivery van was still there. I don’t know why they left it. At least we were able to deliver again after a little while and we had no further losses. The car will be used first for another branch.”
Anyone who can help turn thieves over to the police should now call the police at 0341/96646666.
