Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton has been out of trophies for two years now. Now and may not last for many years, he is already working on his future. He’s working on a movie about Formula 1, which he believes will be the best racing movie in history.
Together with his manager Benny Tho, Hamilton created a production company called Dawn Apollo Films. During production, he will take on the role of advisor and producer. The project is backed by Apple, whose CEO, Tim Cook, was also present at the US Grand Prix last weekend.
Many of the cast members are not yet known. We already know that Brad Pitt will play the main role, and Pitt was also present at the Grand Prix all weekend. Director Joseph Kosinski, producer Jerry Bruckheimer and screenwriter Ehren Krueger also attended and helped produce the film.
What do you think the difference?
On the Friday before the Grand Prix, a presentation was given to the teams about the film. Then, the initiators visited all the teams to talk about their participation. So far the response from the teams has been very positive. Haas Team Leader Gunther Steiner is very impressed with the technology they will be using. “I think that would be good for Formula 1,” he says.
Hamilton is anyway very pleased with his movie. “I’m really confident this will be the best racing movie ever. All Formula 1 fans will enjoy this.”
However, we will have to wait a little longer. They will start shooting the movie next year.
