Raiden A few weeks ago, a request for a permit from the municipality of Redin to build a fast food restaurant appeared on the municipality’s page. Since then, the rumors in Raiden have been running at full speed. The municipality has now confirmed to De Regiobode that McDonald's is planning to open a restaurant at Arnhemsestraatweg 68.
The proposed plan includes building a restaurant on the site of the current China Palace Restaurant, which quickly became a hot topic in the village. Councilor Paul Hoffmann from the municipality of Redden can confirm the rumors about McDonald's arrival. “In fact, this is McDonald's. This is a binding application, which means that the municipality has a 'testing' role and cannot provide a free evaluation. If the application meets the legally stipulated criteria, we are obliged to grant the permit,” explains the consultant to the regional council.
Although the councilman is not excited about the arrival of an American hamburger restaurant in his municipality, he expressed concerns about the potential inconvenience, road safety and litter such a restaurant would entail. I promised the locals that I would engage in discussions with them. “I will then also discuss these concerns with McDonald's,” Hoffman said.
