The U19 Cricket World Cup is scheduled to be held in the West Indies next year. The European regional qualifiers for the final event are scheduled to take place from 19-25 September 2021 in Spain.
Originally, the tournament was to be held in Scotland. However, after consulting with the participating teams, the tournament was moved to Spain, subject to COVID-19 restrictions in Scotland.
A total of four teams will participate in the event after Denmark and Guernsey withdrew. Ireland, the Netherlands, Scotland and Jersey are vying for the title for a win that qualifies for next year’s ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup.
In the first match of the tournament, the Dutch U19s meet Ireland U19s at Desert Springs in Almeria, Spain. Team Vector will lead Ireland. Both teams have some talented players on their squad, which makes for an exciting competition in the opening match of the tournament.
The playoffs offer players from all sides a great opportunity to showcase their skills and cement their place on the side in next year’s big event.
