The Miami Grand Prix is finally on the calendar after several years of negotiations. The organization confirmed Thursday that the second US weekend of Formula 1 is now in fact on the calendar, the weekend of May 6-8.
The new circuit around Hard Rock Stadium in Miami is the second US Grand Prix on the calendar. The Austin Grand Prix will also continue in 2022, although that race will take place a lot later in the season. On the other hand, the Miami race takes place very early in the season. Remarkably, in the period when the European part of the calendar begins normally. It will be interesting to see how that plays out against the rest of the calendar.

Tim Garfinkel, owner of the Miami Dolphins and the big man behind the Miami Grand Prix, is excited to take part in the race. “We’ve worked hard to design a great racing track and venue that offers unparalleled experiences for fans. We are excited to announce the date so people can start planning.”
An unforgettable sports experience
For race director Richard Kerrigan, there is no doubt that the majestic circuit will be a stunning fixture on the calendar. “I have no doubt that the Formula 1 community and sports fans around the world will be amazed at what they see in May. It will be a really great addition to the calendar. This site is already known for creating unforgettable experiences for events like the Super Bowl and Miami Open. We look forward to embracing An entirely new global sporting opportunity,” he concludes proudly.
