For example, the first measurements show that the exoplanet WASP-96 b contains traces of water and steam clouds. It is so close to its star that a year only lasts 3.5 days. In addition, the web Pictures of gas nebulae. The image shared by Biden shows thousands of distant galaxies in a small patch of space.
This image, released by NASA on July 12, 2022, shows that the faint star in the center of this scene has been spewing rings of gas and dust in all directions for thousands of years, and the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) first revealed that this star is shrouded in dust.

James Webb is developed by the United States, Europe and Canada. The space telescope was launched on Christmas Day. It is the successor to the famous Hubble Space Telescope, which is nearing its end. At the end of January, after about a month of flying, James Webb arrived at his workplace 1.5 million kilometers from Earth. After getting there, all the systems were tested and the devices on board were cooled, so that the temperature of one of them reaches minus 266 degrees. Mirrors have also been modified. They collect the light that comes from the universe and send it to measuring instruments.
James Webb has eighteen hexagonal mirrors that sit together, but can move independently of each other to focus. The mirror is made of beryllium, topped with a small layer of gold, 100 nanometers thick. This is a thousand times thinner than a human hair or paper. Beryllium is light, strong and can withstand extreme cold. Gold ensures that the mirror can better see infrared light.
Huge Stefan’s Pentagram mosaic is the largest image yet from NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope, covering about a fifth of the moon’s diameter. It contains more than 150 million pixels and consists of nearly 1,000 individual image files.

Now that the first pictures have been taken, the preparatory work has been completed and the scientific research for which James Webb was built has begun. Among other things, James Webb has to search for planets where life might be possible, distant galaxies and traces of the Big Bang. It can be seen in time past a billion years further than Hubble.
The project will cost approximately 8 billion euros. From the Netherlands, Leiden University and research institute TNO are involved in the mission, among others.
This juxtaposition image was released by NASA on July 12, 2022, and it compares the near and mid-infrared wavelengths of light converted into visible color light.
