NAC Breda is busy with the arrival of Max Ballard. The 23-year-old midfielder should come from Australia on a free transfer. He recently became a hero there with the Central Coast Mariners.
Just three weeks ago, NAC were promoted to the Eredivisie. Casper Staring became Breda's hero by scoring the club's liberating goal in Kralingen (4-1). Now it appears that Staring is the victim, as his employer is busy finding a replacement.
According to Portuguese sources, Ballard had been on his way to Portimonese for some time, but that club's relegation raised doubts among young observers. He also changed agents. NAC have also put the Australian on their radar and appear to have become convinced of his qualities. Ballard believes he can continue to grow in the Eredivisie. So there is a good chance it will enter Rat Fairleg's stadium in the short term.
Ballard is doing well for his country after winning the Australian national title. He was voted among the top five players in the national competition. In addition, he was very popular in his club. His dual citizenship (including French) opened the door to Europe widely.
