The Dutch national team begins its European Championship group stage match against France on Friday evening, with Jeremy Frimpong participating in the starting lineup. He will play as a right winger. Xavi Simons moves to midfield, where he makes way for Joey Firman.
Firman and Simons did not make a good impression in the first group match against Poland (2-1 win). Ronald Koeman has now decided to make a slight change in his lineup to face France. Simons disappears down the right flank where Frimpong will play. He brings extra speed to the team.
Koeman also wanted to change something in the midfield. The match was between Georginio Wijnaldum and Simons and the national coach chose the latter No. 10. So Wijnaldum sits on the bench, where Verman will also sit. Jerdy Schouten and Tijani Reynders remain standing.
The Netherlands and France won their first group match. The winner of Friday evening's match guarantees a place in the knockout stage.
