LaLiga has another beautiful Dutch pearl. Arnaut Danjuma Groeneveld will appear on the stand at Villarreal CF. The Spanish 7th seed last season paid Bournemouth at least 23 million euros as a winger.
Danjuma is officially “Groguet” and signs a contract until mid-2026. The 24-year-old Nigerian-born Dutchman immediately plays the lead role in a film in which Villarreal’s fourth uniform is introduced. The winger can become a sensation in LaLiga and that’s great for national coach Louis van Gaal, who is still looking for a winger to be able to play 4-3-3 with the Orange again.
Danjuma will play directly in the Champions League. Although Villarreal finished seventh in La Liga, they won the Europa League and this provides a ticket to the most important European club competition.
Danjuma scored at home in Bournemouth
Last season, Danjuma played 33 matches in the tournament, scoring 15 goals. He also scored two more times in promotional matches, but Bournemouth was ultimately unsuccessful.
In the past, Danjuma played for PSV youth academy, which transferred him to NEC on a free transfer deal. Nijmegen residents sold him for just under €3 million to Club Brugge in the summer of 2018. A year later, the Belgians raised nearly €17 million for him.
