Work Backward: Insights, Stories, and Secrets from Amazon
Have you always wondered how Amazon could become one of the most valuable companies of our time? Former senior executives Bryar and Carr get a look behind the scenes of this high-profile company for the first time in business backwards. The result is a practical guide and an Amazon story, describing what it means to be an “Amazon” and how it has affected their personal and professional lives. Amazon’s success was not achieved through the genius of a single individual, but by design through which a series of clearly formulated principles were implemented. In this book, Bryar and Carr reveal the principles and processes that have made Amazon grow exponentially, from the Fourteen Principles of Leadership to the overall implementation process. Colin Breyer started his career at Amazon in 1998 and was the right-hand man of Jeff Bezos for many years as a technology consultant. Bill Carr joined the business in 1999 and has managed Amazon Music, Prime Music, Amazon Video, Prime Video and Amazon Studios for more than fifteen years. Colin now works as a consultant and Bill is the COO at OfferUp, a digital marketplace for local buyers and sellers in the United States.
