With everyone talking about the Xbox Series X and PS5, I feel the announcement of Oculus Quest 2 plus the fact that it was released this week has been largely forgotten. The Oculus Quest has been one of my favorite devices in the past few years, due to the fact that it doesn’t need any kind of computers or connected wires to run the vast majority of VR games available.
The Oculus Quest 2 is even more attractive due to the fact that it is $ 200 cheaper than the original Oculus (which was still a big deal in my opinion) and is better in nearly every respect. A host of new games have also been announced including Jurassic World, Medal of Honor, The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners Assassin’s Creed VR, Splinter Cell VR, and Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge Experience.
Oculus Quest 2 is released on October 13 for $ 479 (64GB) and $ 639 (256GB), respectively. There is also a range of accessories that you can find here.
OCULUS QUEST 2 Improvements from the original
- 50% more pixels than the original
- Better processor with more RAM
- New touchscreen controllers with better ergonomics
- A lighter and smaller headphone
- Oculus Link still allows you to connect to a PC with a better frame rate.
- Spot sound built into headphone
