There has been a lot of talk and confusion about the upcoming release of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remaster. Thankfully, Insomniac Games is clearing the air. The first step is now published, thanks to new details on next-generation improvements and a first look at the remaster in action. Footage from the Remaster notably shows a glimpse of Peter Parker’s new design.
Insomniac has unleashed two different videos for Marvel’s Spider-Man Remaster, And both last about 90 seconds. The first video is a scene Peter shared with Doctor Octavius in the lab. Check it out below:
In a blog post on PS, community manager James Stephenson explained that the decision to rework Peter’s face model was based on the need to “get a better match with actor Peter Parker’s face image / Spider-Man Yuri Lowenthal”. As such, the actor who introduced the picture of Peter on PS4, John Bubnyak, was replaced by Ben Jordan.
Insomniac’s second video, shown below, offers a peek at Spider-Man taking down enemies in the construction arena. It specifically shows the remaster performance mode, which targets a frame rate of 60 fps.
The switch takes advantage of a number of the PS5’s bells and whistles, too. Near-instant uploads are just one example, although Stephenson notes that players will have the option to enable subway loading screens for fast travel. It should also add the spatial 3D sound and haptic feedback capabilities of DualSense to the experience.

Thankfully, Insomniac also took the time to explain exactly how to obtain the remaster. The main option is to buy Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition On the PS5. It retails for $ 69.99 and comes with a coupon code for Marvel’s Spider-Man Remaster.
Another way to get the Enhancer is to purchase the Standard Edition of Miles Morales On the PS4 for $ 49.99. This iteration will provide a free upgrade path for the PS5. The in-game menu in the PS5 version will give players the option to pay Spider Man Remastered. This upgrade path will not be available to PS4 owners who purchase Miles Morales Disc, then buy a PS5 Digital Edition without a drive.
