SV Zulte Waregem presented its eighth summer acquisition Wednesday night. He reached an agreement with Stade de Reims of Ligue 1 on Derek Kutesa. The 23-year-old Swiss winger is rented for one season with an option to buy.
Kutesa joins the core of Frankie Dory on Wednesday. The Swiss played 28 matches in the French league last season, scoring one goal and making two assists. The right-footed international has previously had good weather at FC Sankt Gallen and FC Basel in Switzerland.
On the club site Kutesa already came up with the first reaction. “I immediately have the feeling that the coach, the entire club and the management believe in my qualities. I spoke with Wout Faes, Thomas Foket and Thibault De Smet about Zulte Waregem and they were very excited. So I am very happy to be here to be.”
Eddie Corder, CEO of Essevee, also spoke about the transfer. “It was no secret that we were still looking for an additional player on the wing. With Dereck, we have once again recruited someone who fits our philosophy and our playing style.”
