The first supermarket in the Duen district of Almere will open its doors next Wednesday. Plus supermarket will occupy a prominent place in DUINhal. This is a meeting place on the boulevard, where many (pop-up) shops will be found.
DUINhal covers an area of 7000 square metres. According to real estate agent Van der Linde, this deck is almost entirely left behind. Anyway, there will be a surfing and kite surfing shop next to the supermarket. The brokerage does not want to say anything about other entrepreneurs at the moment. DUINhal will officially open its doors on January 1st.
According to owner Ed Slooten, the PLUS supermarket should not only become a place for everyday shopping. He wanted to make it a place for the neighborhood and thus added all kinds of jobs. In addition to the store, there will soon be a restaurant and a takeaway counter for visitors to the nearby beach. In the future, out-of-school care will use DUIN’s cooking studio.
Initially, about 70 employees will work in the supermarket. According to the businessman, they mainly come from the mir. AmsterdamMr Sloten will run the supermarket with his daughter. Although the family is not from Almere, the link is there: “I have always had a relationship with the port, we come here regularly. We are in Amsterdam. We have our eyes fixed on this and we are really glad we discovered this spot, because it is really cool.”
