The Ladies of Orange begin Tuesday unchanged in the Nijmegen training match against Australia. The squad is the same as last Friday when Spain lost 1-0 in Marbella.

Dominic Janssen, who usually plays as left back, also starts against Australia as right back. Lyn Wilms, the usual right back for Orange Women, is not part of the selection due to injury.

Aniek Nouwen, Stefanie van der Gragt and Merel van Dongen completed the defense against the seventh in FIFA Ranking. The Netherlands is the fourth.

In the midfield, national coach Sarina Wegman, along with Sherida Spetsy, Danielle Van de Donck and Jackie Groen, picks up the household names, and Jill Rourd, Vivien Miedema and Licky Martens start the attack.

Fencing is an important test for Tokyo

Wegman had already announced on Monday that he would change nothing (almost), despite the poor match against Spain on Friday. The duel with the Australian is another important test for the Orange team towards the Games in Tokyo next summer, when the Dutch women will make their debut in the Olympic football tournament.

The Netherlands-Australia match starts Tuesday at 6.30 pm at the Stade de Gufert in Nijmegen and is led by Swiss referee Esther Stuble.

Orange women’s assortment: Van Veenindal, Dr. Janssen, Nuen, Van der Graght, Van Dongen; Spetsy, Van de Donck, Greens; Rourd, Miedema, Martins.
