Bus manufacturer Ebusco from Deurne has signed a contract with a new Swiss customer. Ebusco will supply twelve 3.0 buses to Verkehrsbetriebe St. Gallen (VBSG). This is the twelve-meter version. Electric cars are used in the mountainous landscape of St. Gallen.
Switzerland has always valued clean air and is known as the country with the cleanest air in the world. In line with the climate agreement, the Swiss have developed a long-term climate strategy, aiming to reach net zero emissions by 2050. Public transport company VBSG has therefore set the same goal and is currently switching to electric vehicles for its entire bus fleet.
Neutral climate
CEO Dr. Ralf Eigenmann from VBSG says that the new order with Ebusco is an important step towards their goal of becoming climate neutral: “We are looking forward to our cooperation with Ebusco and are convinced that Ebusco 3.0 is the ideal choice for providing clean services.” And sustainable transportation for our region. This collaboration will not only benefit our community, but will also contribute to a greener and more environmentally friendly future.”
With this order, Ebusco 3.0 enters a new country. In the coming years, this model is also expected to be on the road in: Sweden, Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and France. With the delivery to Switzerland, this will be the first time the Ebusco 3.0 has been used in mountainous terrain.
“No mountain is too high”
Ebusco Sales Director Patrick Oosterveld is confident that their bus will perform well in Switzerland: “There is no mountain too high to climb for Ebusco 3.0. St. Gallen has a beautiful landscape and we are honored to contribute to it with our bus. We are convinced that Ebusco 3.0 It will once again outperform and provide St. Gallen with sustainable and reliable transportation for many years to come.
