Pelosi does not rule out accountability for blocking Trump’s Supreme Court candidate.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi praised the late Judge Ruth Bader Ginsburg on Sunday, calling her a “brilliant mind in court” in her appearance on ABC’s “this week.”
Pelosi, who appeared in an interview with ABC News chairman George Stephanopoulos, has not ruled out starting impeachment measures in order to prevent the Senate from confirming a candidate from President Donald Trump.
“We have our options. We have arrows in our bag that I’m not about to discuss right now but the truth is that we have a huge challenge in our country. This president has threatened not to even accept the election results,” Pelosi said. Our main goal is to protect election integrity because we are protecting people from Coronavirus.
Pelosi, who ordered half of the staff with flags on Friday evening in Ginsburg’s honor, urged people to come out to vote in defense of healthcare and the right to choose. As the country nears 200,000 deaths during the COVID-19 pandemic, she said Ginsburg “wants us to go forward to protect the sick.”
“It’s really important for everyone to get out there and vote,” said Pelosi from California.
After Stephanopoulos insisted that she “does not rule out anything,” Pelosi said that the constitution requires Congress to “use every arrow in our inventory.”
“We have a responsibility,” she said. “We are taking an oath to protect and defend the United States Constitution.”
