Pierre Emerick Aubameyang signed a new three-year contract with Arsenal.
The 31-year-old’s deal was due to expire at the end of the season, but has now ended speculation by extending his stay in the Emirates.
Arsenal’s captain scored in the opening match a 3-0 win over Fulham on Saturday, with first-team manager Mikel Arteta hinting after the match that a new decade was approaching.
“The signing of this private club was not in doubt,” Aubameyang said. “Thanks to our fans, my team-mates, my family and everyone in this club, I feel I belong here.
I believe in Arsenal. We can achieve big things together. We have something exciting here and I think the best would be to come to Arsenal.

“I believe in Arsenal. We can achieve big things together. We have something exciting here and I think the best would be for Arsenal to come.”
Arteta added, “It was important for Pierre Emerric to stay with us. He is a great player and he has an amazing mindset. Being the player who took the least time to reach 50 goals with this club tells you everything you need to know. About him and how he works.”
“He is an important captain for the team and a big part of what we build. He wants to be there with the best players in the world and make his mark. He can make it happen here.”
Aubameyang scored 22 goals in the Premier League last season and scored two goals in Arsenal’s 2-1 victory over Chelsea in the FA Cup final to secure his place in the European League.
The Gabonese striker also scored a goal – and about the penalty shootout winning – when Arsenal beat Liverpool to win the Community Shield.
Since moving to Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018, he has scored 55 goals in 86 Premier League matches.
Edo coach said, “Obviously, Oba loves the club and everything we defend on and off the field. He is clearly a very important part of the team, so we’re all happy that he has dedicated his future to us. It’s a big boost for everyone – the fans, colleagues and staff.”
I want to leave a legacy at Arsenal
After announcing the extension via a live broadcast on the club’s Instagram and Twitter accounts, Aubameyang expressed his desire to follow in the footsteps of Thierry Henry, Ian Wright, Tony Adams and Dennis Bergkamp and become an Arsenal legend.
“Of course I knew about Arsenal before my arrival,” Aubameyang said. “Everyone knows how distinguished this club is.”
“I have seen great players. Passionate players. Indomitable players. I dream to be one of them, among the best, and to remain in the hearts of the fans forever.”
“I want to be a legend at Arsenal, just like Thierry, Ritey, Adams and Berkamp. So much to mention.
“My father is my biggest inspiration and he was the captain of his team and his country, so it means a lot to me to be the captain of this particular club. I want to leave a legacy, this is where I belong. This is my country. Family.”
Two offers for Auba before signing the new deal
Darmesh Sheth in the relocation program:
I spoke to two people close to Arsenal earlier on Wednesday, and that’s a huge deal, and a major upheaval for Arsenal because I was told – they won’t tell me about clubs – there were two major offers for Obamyang during this transfer window that has not been leaked.
Two big clubs. So you have to go and give a little credit to Edo Coach and Mikel Arteta, because Arteta has always said that it is not a matter of whether Aubameyang wants to stay at Arsenal, we have to convince Aubameyang that we have ambition to achieve his ambition, that we will sign the right players for him to commit to another three years. To make sure he’s in a club that wins things.
The FA Cup victory may have gone some way in convincing Aubameyang that the direction Arsenal is heading is the direction he wants to go. You have to give Arteta a lot of credit for effectively convincing Aubameyang that this was the right place for him. .

SSN’s Darmesh Sheth says this is great for Obamyang
Sky Sports News Reporter Darmesh Sheth:
Fans of Arsenal can breathe easily – at last.
There is no need to “announce Aubameyang contract.” it’s done. Has fallen. And for the player, it’s a great deal. Three years, actually.
There were some dissenting voices. Why are we giving a 31-year-old such length of contract and such a large sum (said to be £ 250,000 a week)? simple. 72 goals in 111 matches. Since his debut, no one has scored more in the Premier League than Pierre Emerick Aubameyang.
However, this deal may be a sign of the direction Arsenal is headed.
“We hope to convince him that this is the right place for him and that he has a future here.” Words of Senior Team Manager Mikel Arteta when asked about Aubameyang in February.
Turns out Arteta and Arsenal have convinced him.
The new decade will, on its own, delight Arsenal supporters, but what it hints may provide reasons for optimism about where the club is headed.

Eighth place might say otherwise, but Aubameyang appears to be buying something. Under Arteta, Arsenal beat Manchester United and Liverpool in the Premier League. They won the FA Cup thanks to victories over Manchester City in the semi-final and Chelsea in the final – Aubameyang scored twice in both games.
Arteta’s tactics were praised in those matches, tactics that brought the best of his main man. Add to that, Arteta showed a ruthless streak – ask Mesut Ozil and Matteo Gendozy. There is no doubt that the manager’s strength will be a huge factor in Aubameyang’s decision – and so will the club’s ambition.
There is acceptance that Arsenal have to be creative in this transfer window, but make no mistake, Aubameyang will be asking about potential signings. Do they bring in players to help challenge for the top four, and, dare I say, the title? Aubameyang must have thought so.
There are changes behind the scenes. Football chief Raul Sanlihi is gone, and managing director Vinay Venkatesham took over the role with an accompanying crowd cry. “There is a lot of work to be done to get Arsenal back on top of the game where we belong, which is what our fans are rightfully asking for.” An opinion Aubameyang undoubtedly shared.

Arsenal in advanced talks to Runarson
Arsenal are in advanced talks with Dijon about signing goalkeeper Ronard Alex Runarsson.
The 25-year-old Icelandic international stayed for two years on his contract with the French club after joining from Danish club Nordjörband in 2018.
Ronar Alex Runarson made 12 appearances for Dijon last season
Arsenal is in the market for a reserve goalkeeper to compete with youngster Matt Massey, after he accepted an offer of 16 million pounds from Aston Villa to Emiliano Martinez.
The 28-year-old Argentine is expected to complete a move to Villa Park this week.
Martinez has two years left on his Emirates contract and was affected when he interfered with first goalkeeper Bernd Leno when the German was injured in June, but Arsenal are actively looking to generate funding for more overseas contracts in this window.
