PSV has partnered with Brazilian Cruzeiro, the club of former PSV Eindhoven striker Ronaldo. The two clubs plan to share knowledge about scouting, education and training, while also developing business opportunities.
It is PSV’s third international partnership, following previous partnerships with Mexican Chivas Guadalajara and Austin FC of the United States.
“By entering into strategic partnerships with football clubs from other parts of the world, we believe we can strengthen our competitive position in the global football landscape,” said Marcel Brands, General Manager Football. “Partnering with one of the biggest clubs in Brazil gives us more insight into the football pyramid of South America, a region with which Eindhoven is traditionally strongly associated. And by sharing our knowledge, our influence on the football scene grows as well.”
Ernst Faber, President of the PSV Academy, is also happy to collaborate in the technical field of football. “Cruzeiro is a club of stature and underwent a reorganization after being relegated to the second tier of Brazil. In 2022 the club became champion and in 2023 it will return to the highest level, and the club aspires to return to the Brazilian top. It is believed that this process can be accelerated thanks to the knowledge of PSV. We are convinced that it is Through this collaboration we can strive for greater potential,” Faber said.
