In recent years, we’ve seen sportswear giant Puma get into vidya with several crossovers: Two years ago there was a line of Sonic-style sneakers, and last year the company teamed up with Tetris to bring its line of shoes based on Tetris (more comfortable than You might imagine it looking at this particular intersection.)
Now it looks like Puma and Nintendo are coming together for a similar Super Mario Crossover game, there’s no question it’s a plumbers’ bond for the upcoming 35th anniversary. As Press Start reported, a pair of Super Mario shoes (or sneakers as we say about these parts) have appeared on Footlocker.
The product page has since been deleted, but not before the internet took a good look at the red and blue shoes:
It appears to be only a matter of time before it is officially revealed, as rumors of other announcements relating to the plumber’s 35th anniversary continue to grow. Besides the distinctive color scheme, the Super Mario trademark confines itself to the tabs on each shoe and the cute little Starman in the back. Classy!
